Ronja asked for my camera, when she saw the photographs
- 2015 - (20.5 x 14 cm)
In 2012 my then 4-year-old daughter Ronja and I visited the Wolfgang Tillmans’ exhibition at Moderna Museet in Stockholm. When Ronja entered the exhibition she spontaneously asked for my camera so that she could photograph Tillmans’ photographs. Driven by a fascination for what she saw, she used the compact digital camera as a way to interact with the exhibition and its images. Christine Sjöberg and I later edited the photographs she took of Tillmans’ into a book, designed by Julia Brynielsson. In the layout of the book I wanted to capture how Tillmans often exhibits his images, and the book was made as a fold out to create a notion of the exhibition wall.
Ronja asked for my camera, when she saw the photographs was made in 3 copies – one for Ronja, one for Wolfgang Tillmans and one for the Hasselblad Library. It was finalized in the autumn of 2015, and one book was given to Tillmans during his opening at the Hasselblad Center.
